What is CFI Portland?

CFI Portland is the local branch of Center For Inquiry Transnational, an educational nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a secular society based on science, reason, free inquiry and humanist values. We are a community where like-minded individuals meet, exchange ideas and experiences, and make friends. We also have a vibrant community of families who support each other in raising children well without religion.

We work to:

•  Advance reason and free of inquiry in all areas of human endeavor with no unaskable questions or unthinkable thoughts.

•  Educate the public about non-believers to reduce fear and prejudice.

•  Protect freedom of conscience and the separation of religion and state.

By:

•  Providing education, outreach, and community service.

•  Presenting affirmative, rational ethical alternatives to the reigning paranormal systems of belief.

•  Building community.

CFI Portland offers over 150 events per year such as book and discussion groups, children’s activities, community service, movie and game nights, potlucks, campouts, lectures by high profile speakers, bar and coffeehouse meetups, organized activism, educational courses, and much more.
